Edible Park Kicks Off!

Mayor Rowe with City of Portsmouth, Marjorie Mayfield, Director Elizabeth River Project, and Amy Paulson, Healthy Portsmouth welcome the first native blueberry bush for planting at Paradise Creek Park as part of the Edible Park Project.

In collaboration with the Portsmouth Health Department and Elizabeth River Project/ Paradise Creek Nature Park through a grant from the Virginia Department of Health we are excited to announce the launch of the area's first "Edible Park". Over 200 native edible plants are being planted and will be available to the public to harvest for free starting in 2019.
