Green Roof

A green roof is a living insulation system that can be added onto any flat roof, reducing costs of energy and increasing the longevity of your roof. Green roof soils insulate the roof from heat and can contribute to a reduction of greater than 25% energy use for air conditioning. Green roofs also reduce stormwater runoff, sink carbon, and absorb sunlight, reducing our heat island effect.

Scale & Design

A green roof can be retrofitted onto any existing flat roof, as long as the roof has the ability to bear the additional weight load (approximately 27-29lbs/sq ft). This system is effective at both residential and commercial scales.

Estimated Costs

$15-50/sq ft
