Ru graduated from William and Mary in 2024 with a bachelors in Geology and a minor in sociology. While in college she focused her studies on environmental injustice, conducting research on the disproportionate effect the historical pollution that plagues the Elizabeth River Watershed has on the Black community. Her passion for social change and the upliftment of marginalized communities derives from her upbringing in a household that values the empowerment of BIPOC and has a strong, proud connection to their home country of Jamaica. In her free time, she enjoys lots of rest and relaxation, featuring a warm bath and jazz.
