Summer has a Bachelor of Science in Biology, concentration in Marine Biology, from Old Dominion University. Starting as an educator on the Learning Barge in 2017, she quickly discovered her passion for environmental education and the importance of fostering meaningful and positive learning experiences for the next generation of river stewards. Now, as Director of Education, she leads efforts to engage the community in environmental stewardship. In her free time, Summer enjoys spending time with her daughter, husband, and two dogs. She loves trying new restaurants and is almost caught up on all seasons of Survivor.
